F. Bartlett
Frederick Bartlett was the son of Tom and Sarah Elizabeth Bartlett (nee Iles) and was born in 1903. In 1911 Tom, a mason, and Sarah with their three sons, Edward, Frederick and Royden Nelson lived at 16 Plassey Street. Frederick and Kathleen May Dumper married in Bristol in 1931. Their son, Graham, was born that same year. In 1939 Kathleen was employed as a club steward. She and Graham lived at 44 Andrew Road, Cogan. Frederick served as a Sapper in the Royal Engineers, 152 Railway Construction Company, service number 1983822. He was wounded on 5th May 1940, died on 13th June and is buried in Rennes Eastern Communal Cemetery, Sec. 18. Plot 2. Row G. Grave 1. Kathleen Bartlett later remarried.
Frederick’s father, Tom, died in WW1 and is commemorated on the Roll of Honour.
