Walter Young
Walter Young was born at Totterdown, Bristol, the son of Charles Octavius and Margaret E Young. In 1891, Walter was living at 26 Plymouth Road with his mother, sister Jane and aunt Elizabeth Haddon. Octavius Young died in 1884 aged 44. Walter married Mary Ellen Noneley in 1909 and they lived at 144 Wells Road, Knowle, Bristol. He served as a Sergeant in the 2nd Battalion, the Gloucestershire Regiment. His service number was 21417. Walter was killed in action in Salonika on 4th October 1916 aged 34 and is buried at IV. D. 12. Struma Military Cemetery.
