Harry White
Harry Douglas White was born in Penarth in 1900, the son of William and Lucy White (nee Pike) and brother of Margie, Dorithay and Maude. In 1911 the family lived at 15 Maughan Terrace, Penarth. He was baptised on 10th October 1900 the son of Willie, a cabman, and Lucy of 63 Plassey St. Harry served as an Ordinary Seaman in the Mercantile Marine aboard S.S. “Boscastle” (West Hartlepool) and died on 7th April 1918 aged 17. Harry is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial.
