Harold Ashcombe Chamen
Harold was born in Harlesden, London in 1894, the son of William Ashcombe Chamen and Marion Mabel Chamen. In 1901 census he was living at 66 Partickhill Road, Govan with his parents and brother William. In 1911, William and Marian Chamen with their children William and Kathleen were living at 23 Victoria Square, Penarth while Harold was a pupil at Lancing College. He later went to Reading University College. William enlisted in August 1914 serving first with the South Wales Borderers and then joining the Regular Army to serve in the 2nd Battalion, the Bedfordshire Regiment. His rank was of Lieutenant. Harold died of wounds on 1st August1916 aged 22 and is buried in Plot 2, Row A, Grave 22, Corbie Communal Cemetery Extension.
