Edward K Walker
Edward K Walker was born in Penarth in 1900. He was the son of Edward and Kate Walker and brother of Leonard, Hilda, Reginald, Edgar and Thomas. In 1911 the family was living in the School House, Albert Road, Penarth where his father, Edward (Snr), was the caretaker. (1911 census). His brother Leonard was a tally clerk in a flour mill having been injured whilst serving in the Territorial Forces. (He received a pension) . Edward served in 172nd Siege Battery, the Royal Garrison Artillery with the rank of Gunner (service number 650).He died of wounds on 4th November 1916 and is buried at III. C. 6., Couin British Cemetery. He is also commemorated on St Paul’s Roll of Honour.
