Albert Edwards

Albert was born in Penarth in 1889. Son of Mrs JE and the late George Edwards. Son of Elizabeth Smith, stepson of James Smith and brother of Charles, Bertha, Ernest, George and Rose Edwards of 102 Plassey Street, Penarth. In 1911 he was employed as a ticket collector by the Taff Vale Railway. Albert served in the Glamorgan Royal Engineers (service number 5201) and 2^ndBattalion, the Gloucestershire Regiment where his rank was Private (service number 32701). He died in Salonika on 20th December 1918 not having been home since enlisting in 1914.
