Thomas Fitzgerald
Thomas was born in Penarth, the son of Patrick & Elizabeth Fitzgerald and brother of Henry, Osbourne, Margaret, Lilian, Elizabeth, Dorothy and Gordon of 22 Station Rd, Penarth. In 1911 he was a plumber. Thomas served in “A” Battery. 113th Brigade, the Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery. His rank was Sergeant (service number 24472). He was killed in action on 6th July 1917 aged 29 and is buried in III. F. 4., Reninghelst New Military Cemetery. From Army records, Thomas is described as being 5ft 10in tall and weighing 146lb with an expanded chest measurement of 34ins. He had a dark complexion, blue eyes and dark hair.
