Horace Edward Hall
Horace Edward Hall was born in Penarth in 1896 and in 1911 was assisting in his father’s fishmonger business. He was living at 28 Windsor Road with his parents Edward and Alice Hall and sisters Elsie, Edith and Hilda. Horace served in the 38th Signal Company, the Royal Engineers where his rank was Pioneer (service number 62941). He was killed in action on 12th July 1916 aged 20 and is buried at V. F. 7., Flatiron Copse Cemetery, Mamet. He was a member of Llandough Baptist Church.
