Harry Clements
Harry was born on 11th November1896. He was the son of Henry and Elizabeth, hotel keepers, and brother of Rosemary, Evelyn, Alice, Alfred, Francis, Marjorie and Lionel. In 1911 the family lived at 175 Penarth Road and Harry assisted his father in the business. From Navy record – Next of Kin – Father – Henry Thomas P Clements, 114 Wyndham Crescent, Cardiff then Wife, Alice May Clements, “Redcliffe”, New Road, Porthcawl. Harry served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. His rank was Petty Officer (service number Wales Z/373). He died of influenza on 18th February 1919 and is buried in grave C. 182, Penarth Cemetery. Harry was awarded the Military Medal. He is described as being 5ft 7ins tall with an expanded chest measurement of 34ins. He had a fresh complexion, brown hair and grey eyes. Harry was demobbed in UK on 14th February 1919 and died at 14 Woodleever (pres Woodland) Place, Penarth. (see also Reginald Cleves)
