Harold P Lloyd
Harold Percival Lloyd was born in Penarth. He may be Harold, born 1886, husband of Ethel and father of Lilian, Arthur and Elsie of 19 Charlotte St, Cogan, working as a house painter (1911 census). Harold P Lloyd, the son of Thomas and Caroline Lloyd, brother of Sidney, Edgar and Bertha of Penturnpithe (Penyturnpike?), Michaelstone Le Pit. He was a house painter (A P – apprentice?). Thomas was also a house painter. (1901 census). Harold Lloyd married Ethel Beatrice Spear in 1904. He served in “B” Battery. 82nd Brigade, the Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery with the rank of Bombardier (service number 29236). Harold was killed in action on 21st July 1917 and is buried at I. E. 24., Canada Farm Cemetery.
