A Cyril Sims
Albert Cyril Sims was born 1895 in Barry and was the step-son of Robert George Buye, of 28, King St., Penarth. He was the son of Evelyn Sims, a widow, brother of Evelyn and grandson of Elizabeth Hall and they lived at 23 West Terrace, Penarth in 1901. His father, William John Sims, died in 1900 aged 36. Albert served in Mechanical Transport attached to 121st Siege Battery., Royal Garrison Artillery and in the Royal Army Service Corps. His rank was Private (service number DM/162929). Albert was killed in action on 20th July 1917 aged 21 and is buried at XVI. C. 11A., Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery. He is also commemorated on Grave B3 in St Augustine’s Churchyard.
