A Trevor Jones
Arthur Trevor Jones was born in Cardiff in 1892, the son of William Watkin and Louisa Ann Jones. He was educated at Tonbridge School (Judde House) and volunteered in September 1914. In 1901 he was living at 10 Marine Parade with his parents William a colliery proprietor and ship broker and Louisa who was also a ship broker, and his siblings Charles, Elizabeth, Evan and William. In 1911 he was a ship broker’s clerk and lived at 116 Plymouth Road with his father and brothers Evan and William. Arthur served in “C” Company, 17th Battalion, the Welsh Regiment and his rank was Temp Lieutenant Captain. He died of wounds on 19th June 1917 aged 25 and is buried at Fins New British Cemetery, Sorel-le-Gran.
