The Roll of Honour Project Team took part in the Penarth Town Councils’ exhibition commemorating the end of the Great War which was held on the afternoon of Friday 9th November in the Paget Rooms. The Friends then held an extra Open Church session on Saturday 10th November.
Open Church Extra enabled visitors to see and learn about the Roll of Honour; to inspect the Parish baptism, marriage and burial registers and to find out about the Habitat and Heritage project in the churchyard.
About 30 people took advantage of this opportunity. Chris Higley gave a talk about the Roll of Honour and the craftsmen and women who designed and made it and the parish registers were in demand with visitors looking for their family records. Visitors were also able to have a welcome cup of tea or coffee.
